Notes from the Lodge Administrator, January 2023

Hello everyone!

With all the hopes of what a new year brings, here we go rolling into 2023. Amazing how fast time goes by. I sure hope your Thanksgiving and Christmas were an all-time best. Deb and I would like to wish you all the best in 2023.

2022 was yet another fun filled year that brought us all together as much as possible and we all need to give credit where credit is due. Our volunteers are amazing! From top to bottom. Our kids that help serve meals, the cooks, bartenders, Lodge officers and everyone in between. YOU MAKE IT HAPPEN! A big thank you to you all. We all are very grateful.

Although we could still use more help from anyone that can offer their time, we will keep moving forward to make the lodge the best it can be.

There are plans in the works for better communications and a minimum of one Saturday event per month put on the calendar. I would also stress the importance of your input as to what we could add to the calendar going forward. Please join us at the general membership meetings every second and fourth Tuesday of every month at 7:00 pm. This is where you can submit your ideas and let us know what you would like to see or help out with going forward.

On another subject, I sure hope you all are receiving your monthly Moose Magazine. Let us know if you are not. This last year there have been some very great articles that share what’s going on fraternity-wide and how your donations make a difference in other people’s lives. All kinds of input and feedback about what makes other lodges successful. As a 43-year member I can tell you our fraternity is on an upswing like I’ve never seen. It is truly a great time to be a MOOSE. We have great leadership.

As I end this message, I need to mention that 2022 was not all wine and roses for some in our Lodge. We had to say goodbye to far too many of our fellow members, including Past Governors Angelo Gaggero and Paul Slavin who both recently passed. I would like to extend our sincere condolences to their families and all of their friends and thank them for all the time and service they gave to make Pacifica Moose Lodge what it is today. May their legacies live on at our lodge and in our hearts. There are also many other members still dealing with severe illness that we need to keep in our thoughts and prayers. Godspeed to them all.

Again, I wish you all a very Happy New Year! Hope to see you at the lodge soon.

You can watch it happen or, as this year’s motto goes you can
“MAKE IT HAPPEN”.

Please come join us at the lodge.

That’s what being a Moose is all about Folks!

Fraternally Yours,
