Letter from the President, January 2025

Hello all,

I hope all of you had a great time during the holidays. We know this can be a very stressful time, missing loved ones and trying to keep up with all of our to do lists during this season. I just want to say thank you for all the support everyone has given the Pacifica Moose Lodge during this time. Together we can do anything.

We’ve enjoyed dinners together, darts, pool, drinks , music and many memories we will cherish throughout the upcoming years. I want to give a special thank you to Travis and the Daly City chapter for making our Christmas toy drive the biggest yet. When we brought the toys to Linda Mar Fire station, over 40 bicycles and 12 garbage bags full of toys, they were very grateful and surprised. Thank you to Public Works for transporting the toys.

The New Year is upon us, and we still need your support. The signup list for New Years Eve was over 110 members and guests, which shows we are having fun by participating and supporting our Lodge. The new event signup sheets will now be located behind the bar with the bar tenders helping or Board member on site, if needed. Please continue to have fun and make memories with us during these events. We have a Super Bowl party on February 9th, doors open at Noon. Valentine’s Day dinner on February 14th which will be serving Prime Rib as our main course that night. Then on March 15th we will be having our famous St. Patrick’s Day Corned beef dinner. Please come, support, and show off your Lodge to your friends. Who knows, they may join the Moose family and start creating memories with us.

There will be some changes during this new year, so please be patient if something is new to you and you didn’t know about it yet. For instance: there is a new sign on the kitchen door asking you (the member) to please use the door near the stage; this is to control non-members and others from just walking into your Lodge. Also, the kitchen door is where we serve our food from and this area should be staff and people who need extra assistance. Look at it this way: are you allowed to walk through the kitchen at a restaurant? Probably not, so please start using your card to get in one of the other three doors around the Lodge. Thank you.

Also we will be asking you to pre-pay for all events, for example Valentines day & St. Patrick’s day. This will help us in ordering food and cost in case someone signs up and doesn’t show up. We want you to join us and have a great time, but look at it from our side, if we have some groups signup and then not show we are out of pocket and it’s frustrating after all the work the volunteers put in for our event.

Now let’s have some fun and make new memories.

Thank you all, for your support

Fraternally yours,

Paul Lavorini
Moose President
