From the Senior Regent, January 2023

To my Brothers and Sisters,

As we welcome 2023 let’s pause and reflect on the last Chapter activities of 2022. On December 3rd, the district social here in Pacifica was a great success. Everyone had a great time with over 50 members attending. For Holiday Bunco on December 14th, we had players that never played before, but they had so much fun they want to do it more often. Santa passed out around 25 gifts at the December 17th children’s Christmas party. Thank you to all the members who helped at these events. The December chapter meeting included a surprise Chinese dinner, including a delicious cake from new member Joyce Maye, and we had game time thanks to Angela Wills; thank you for a great evening. None of these events would have happened without members who continue to volunteer.

On January 8th, the four lucky winners of the Castle Raffle will be touring Pacifica’s castle on the hill. Thank you to all the members who purchased tickets. Money from the proceeds will be used to replace the floor in the bar’s storage room.

Hello 2023! Members are invited to January 14th Golden Gavel meeting. The special meeting will be begin at 11:00 am, followed by a luncheon. Members are asked to wear any Moose t-shirt. The regular January meeting will still be on January 17th.

2023 offers new opportunities to become more involved in the Chapter. In February the slate of nominees for the new 2023-2024 Board will be read. Any co-worker wishing to run for an elective office must fill out a nominating form that is now available in the social quarters. Any questions about the Sr. Regent, Secretary or Treasurer responsibilities can be answered by any present or past Board member.

Chapter meetings are on the third Tuesday of each month. After the business meetings the “Girls Nights Out” ends with fun and games. Have you ever attended a meeting? Many of you have not. I find it disheartening that with over 300 Chapter members, rarely do we have more than 10 co-workers at a meeting. I invite you to attend a meeting…come learn about all the local community organizations we help besides MooseHeart and MooseHaven…come help plan and organize social member and family activities…come and learn about volunteering.

In Faith, Hope and Charity
